The family of Arvo Korhonen announces his passing on December 31, 2008 at Extendicare Kirkland Lake at the age of 79 years. During his 32 year career Arvo worked for Walter Little Transport and Dominion Freightways. His brother Leo; sister Irene and spouse Doris nee Menard predeceased him. Arvo is survived by his brothers John Korhonen of Kirkland Lake and Kaino Korhonen of St. Thomas; nieces Debra-Lynn (Danny) Barrette, Bonnie-Sue (Bruce) Crichton, Penny-Jean (Gary) Fournel, Irene (Allen) Armstrong; nephews Peter Korhonen, Peter Powers, Billie Powers and Tony (Dorothy) Morin. Private family viewing was held at the Monette & French Funeral Home. A Celebration of Arvo’s Life will be held at the Round Lake Cemetery in the spring with family and friends. Donations in Arvo’s memory may be made to the Kirkland Lake Salvation Army (6 Sylvanite Ave. Kirkland Lake, ON.
