I have known Annie and her Mom since I was very young. Like her Mother I always remember the great sense of humour and compasion for the people around them..also worked with Annie at Kdh for the last 27 yrs. She was one of a kind. A truly sad time as we remember a wonderful,fun,generous neighbour to everyone on Beverly. She gave freely of her time,compassion,belongings and the four wheeler when ever needed.A true example of a true friend ! We will certainly miss her .

My sincerest condolences to Anne’s nieces, nephews and close friends (Paula and Linda!). I met Anne many years ago (1978?) at a “Big Italian Wedding” in Kirkland Lake. Our dates were in the wedding party so we got to spend the evening together and did a lot of laughing. It was always great to see her again in the summers and often at the OHA Convention in Toronto in November. She always made me laugh! A beautiful person in every way.

I remember Anne as a new graduate and a young enthusiastic nurse at KDH. It was obvious very early that she had leadership skills. She was excellent at handling any medical emergency. With her pleasant nature, she could calm difficult situations. She will certainly be missed by everyone in Kirkland Lake, Kenogami and Virginiatown. Her compassion and caring for her elderly parents was obvious as well when they were ill. They were certainly proud of her. The Kirkland & District Hospital has lost a fearless leader but she has successfully mentored those that follow. She was so proud of each of you and she never hesitated to tell me how lucky she was to have all of you as co-workers, teammates and friends. You all meant the world to her. You were family. In September we shared an afternoon and evening with friends to celebrate a 60th birthday party. She called me 3 times that day. She was so nervous about coming. Her appearance altered. She didn’t want anyone to worry or be sad if they saw her. I told her if she wasn’t up to coming then we would all understand but if she really wanted to be there…she should come. She came! We had a great time, full of laughs. Her quick wit. Her humor. She brought her “A” game. No surprise. Her ability to make us forget what she was up against was remarkable. She was herself.
