LOACH, Wilda

1928 - 2022

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Wilda Loach at the age of 94. She died on Friday the 12th day of August 2022 at the Tri-town Extendicare nursing home in Haileybury Ontario. She was very loved and will be terribly missed.

Wilda was born on July 8, 1928, the youngest child of Colin Neill and Maria Neill (Willard). Wilda is predeceased by her parents and all her brothers and sisters Kenneth, Curtis, Clarence, Willard, Della, Olive, and Walter.

Wilda was the beloved wife of Albert Loach. They were married on September 25, 1946 and Albert and Wilda were inseparable their entire marriage of 66 years until Albert passed away in 2013. They raised a family of eight children Steven (Doreen), Neill (Terry) Jack (predeceased in 2008) ( Cathy), Eric (Nancy), Miles (Marsha), Judy (Brad), Gladys (Marc), and Kent (Patti). Wilda was the beloved grandmother great grandmother and great great grandmother to many.

Being with her family was what Wilda enjoyed most of all. The Loaches traveled Canada, coast to coast, but the favorite destination was the Manitoba Stampede in Morris, Manitoba. Later, Russell and Ethel McNaughton (niece) became travel companions. Destinations included the Yukon to pan for gold, Nashville, Tennessee and many more plowing matches and music festivals.

Many card games were played on the kitchen table with Merve and Marj Neill and Ray and Della Neill. A trip to a casino was always looked forward to. In quieter times, Wilda loved her puzzles.

The family would like to thank Dr. Don Davies, Dr. Stephen Goddard and the staff at Extendicare in Haileybury for their excellent care.

Her family will abide by her wishes of cremation, with no funeral service or visitation. A private burial will take place later at the Milberta Cemetery. Mom always enjoyed flowers, but she told us many times that she did not want flowers she couldn't enjoy, therefore In lieu of flowers a donation to the heart and stroke or diabetes association would be greatly appreciated.

Wilda & Albert were very dear friends of our family...Mike loved plowing with Albert...Albert taught him how to drink his coffee black..said only real men drink it blk...then one day Mike was plowing their driveway & ended up throwing a rock through their bedroom window while Wilda was still in bed..they never let him forget that lol.....Wilda will be sadly missed same as your dad is...Hugs all around from Diane Jibb & family
