Walter O’Brien,

WALTER O’BRIEN,

2021

O’BRIEN, Walter Paul Joseph – Walter passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 with friends by his side. Walter was born in 1939 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. For many years, he lived in Toronto, making numerous friends among the people he got to know, especially at the Fred Victor at Queen and Jarvis. Despite the health challenges Walter faced over the years, he remained fiercely independent – though able to accept care and support when needed. Walter enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: a cup of coffee, apple pie, a cigarette or a good laugh. He will be missed by his friends and supporters at Fred Victor, Street Health and others in the neighbourhood that became his home. A memorial will be held for Walter at Fred Victor Centre in Toronto. At Walter’s request, he will be buried at Kirkland Lake Cemetery near his brothers. He has returned to his home town of Kirkland Lake. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 form 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, at the French Family Funeral Home (111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake, Ontario). Walter will be laid to rest at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery in the spring of 2013.Offer Condolence for the family of Walter O’Brien
