LEVINSKI, Violet June

1928 - 2022

It is with great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom, Grandma, sister, aunt, sister-in-law. She was a spunky little woman with a HUGE heart and a deep love for the Lord and her family. Her voice will always resonate in our ears singing Victory in Jesus (her favorite hymn). We will all miss her dearly and remember her fondly. She leaves behind her loving Children , Brenda (Lorne) Howey, Perry (Patty) Levinski, Donna (Chris) Ackles, her grandchildren whom she adored and loved so much, Dustin Howey, Jamie Levinski (Greg) , Kailee-Ann Bradley, Brittany Bradley (Endri), Devan Levinski (Madison). Pre-decesed by her husband Walter Joseph Levinski(April 1993), her father Simon Meany, her mom Carolyn Violet Meany (nee Marsh), her son Dale Levinski, as well as her brothers and sisters Gary Meany, Joe Meany, Helen Meany, Harold Meany, and Carolyn (Cookie) Meany. Also left to morn her are her surviving bothers and sisters, Don Meany, wife Donna (deseased) Sheila Whitney, Brian and Sharlene Meany, David and Florance Meany, Phillip and Lee Meany, Debbie and George Duggan. She also leaves behind many nieces , nephews and friends.

June was the first of several deaf siblings to be educated at the Ontario School for the Deaf in Belleville, Ontario.  She was born in Brantford and began her early childhood in Kirkland Lake.   At the age of 8 years she was transferred to the Ontario School for the Deaf, the residential school where she could get the Special Education better suited to her hearing disability.  She attended there through the WW2 years.  She eventually left at age 16 in 1944 to go home and help support her family in Kirkland Lake.

The family would like to thank Temiskaming Hospital for their care and support, The special EMS attendents that brought our Mom home for her family to be with her. Also like to thank KDH palliative care nurses for their care and support. A very special thank you to Tracy Ellerton from Extendicare for the amazing care and support she gave our Mom in the few years she lived there. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Kirkland Lake Pro Life - P.O. Box 593, Kirkland Lake, or the Baptist Church on Tower Street. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place at the Baptist Church at a later date to be announced.

Mom, those special memories of you will always make me smile
If only I could have you back for just a little while
Then we could sit and talk again just like we use to do
You always meant so very much and always will do too
The fact that you are no longer here will always cause me pain
But you are forever in our hearts until we meet again.
See you on the other side Mom xo

I worked with June for many years and she was a very hard working woman and never had any complaints. She worked in the laundry room at extendicare and remained there until her retirement. We got along well and i missed her when she left. My condolence to all Junes family especially Donna. RIP June

I'm Jean Gorecki (daughter of James and Anastasia Gorecki from Englehart). My Mom (Anastasia) was your father's first cousin. I remember visiting you in Kirkland Lake especially the summer I stayed with Joe and Stella Pulchinski.

On behalf of our family, I'd like to offer you our condolences. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.
