I have so many great memories of my Grandma. We spent many wonderful summers and Christmases. We would travel though the night from Windsor arriving at some wee hour. My Grandma would get up, get us in the kitchen and say “eat , you need to eat something”. many hours were spent in her kitchen, cooking, baking, laughing, eating. I loved it when she would send you to the corner store to buy a brick of ice cream, always vanilla. She would than cut it into slices for everyone. What a treat. Grandmas house was always sparkling clean. Everything and everyone scrubed from top to bottom. My Granmother was a forced to be recconed with, not feared so much as respected. She was as tuff as nails. She was very wise, and knew the value of a good education. She was proud of her children, and her grand kids. She lived a very simple life. I think she always felt blessed to be living in Canada. It would make me laugh when her and my Umpa would sit in the living room and watch the news. She always had very strong and interesting views about what was going on in the world. My Grandma made us all from hand the most wonderful feathered pillows, mine has been restuffed and fixed many times over the years. She had a feather matress topper and comforter in the upstairs bedroom. It was heaven to sleep in. Those cold northern nights, the upstairs only heat was that of a wood stove. It did’t matter, you were so warm and safe in Grandmas feather bed. The older I became the more I understood and respected my Grandmas strength and her selflessness. She was an amazing women, who I think I have learned alot from . She never gave up, life is tuff so you must be tuffer. Yes I think that would have been her moto. grandma, I love you and will miss you. Laura xoxo

Mrs luczak was the warmest most welcoming persons I have ever known. Food there was always plenty of food. One time that stands out in my memory is when I was on my way to visit Bob and Halina in Montreal and was asked if I would stop in Kirkland Lake to pick up a few things. When I got arrived at the Luczak house there was a spread of food that would feed a family and Mrs Luczak saying Eat Dan you have to eat. I had had breakfast but ate anyway, there was lots of everything and saying no I’m not hungry didn’t work. Afterwards we loaded the car with more food. I had to stop in a small park on the outskirts of town and lay on a picnic table for a while, I was stuffed. Any visit to the Luczak home in Kirland was the same a warm smile, a friendly hug and plenty of food.

It was a pleasure serving Veronica for the time she lived with us at TPR. She never let me pass in the hallway without looking up and giving a beautiful smile. So very sorry for your loss!
