It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Thérèse Gauthier
(née Perron) on 16 July 2023 at the Témiskaming Hospital in New Liskeard, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Armand Gauthier (1995). Her daughters, who adored her, accompanied her during her last stay in palliative care.
She is survived by her four daughters: Diane Lavoie (Denis Lavoie), Suzanne Mechefske (Kerry Mechefske), Françoise Daviau (François Daviau) and Lorraine Brennan (Steve Brennan).
She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren: Danielle Lavoie (Michael Brown), Louis Lavoie (Emily Grieve-Lavoie), Lisa Epple (Richard Gagné), Tammy Shank, Shawn Mechefske (Brittany Billingsley), Alec Daviau (Sheena Perrier), Maxim Daviau (Natalie Blais), Anne-Denise Racine (Jean-François Racine), Courtney Brennan (Christian Lachapelle), Chelsea Brennan and Amy Brennan.
She is survived by sixteen great-grandchildren: Haley Grieve, Jazzlynn Gagné, Breaven Shank, Arista Shank (Austin Mercier-Demers), Grayson Shank, Robbie Feenie, Dex Mechefske, Lukas Daviau, Lexi Daviau, Félix Daviau, Yanik Daviau, Ellie Racine, Alexis Racine, Sébastien Racine, Eli Lachapelle and Logan Lachapelle.
She is survived by a great-great-grandchild: Kylar Shank-Mercier (Arista and Austin).
She also leaves a sister-in-law Jeanne-d’Arc Perron.
At age 94, Thérèse joins her parents Télesphore and Régina (née Labrèche) Perron. She was predeceased by her sisters Rollande Huppé, Gilberte Guilbeault, Jeannette Guilbeault, Yvette Rivard, Cécile Garand, by her brothers Fernand Perron, Gérard Perron, Lucien Perron, Maurice Perron and Marcel Perron, as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation in the basement of St-Jean Baptiste Church in Earlton: Friday, 21 July 2023 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will also be held at St-Jean Baptiste Church in Earlton: Saturday, 22 July 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
Donations in memory of our mother Thérèse to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Canada are appreciated.
