It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Sheila Martineau announces her death on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the age of 73. She fought valiantly through multiple health challenges in the last year and is now at peace. Sheila leaves to mourn: her devoted husband, of 54 years, Roland; her children Glenn, Lori Roy (husband Guy), Lyle and Jody (fiancee Sylvia Ducharme); her precious grandchildren Matthew (Shannyn) and Brogan; her step-grandchildren Alex and Jordan; her last sibling Sonny (wife Mae) of Prince Rupert, B.C.; her in-laws, Gerry (Georgie predeceased), Lillian Williams (Gord predeceased), and Dennis (wife Marie); and many nieces and nephews. Sheila was predeceased by: her parents, Tom and Mary Brain; her mother-in-law Laura and father-in-law Peter; her sisters Rita, Questa (Bill) and Marion (Abe); as well as her brother-in-law Roger (wife Robbie). Sheila’s deepest love was her family and she took great pride in each one of them. She loved her friends at the Encore Club, where she enjoyed weekly lunches with her dear friend Isabelle and where she listened with pride as the love of her life Roly sang at the Friday karaoke nights. The family will received friends Sunday, Feb 3, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the French Family Funeral Home (111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 4th at 11:00 a.m in the funeral home chapel followed by a reception at the Encore Club (30 Second Street East, Kirkland Lake). Sheila has been cremated; she will be laid to rest in the spring of 2013, with her parents, in The Kirkland Lake Cemetery.
