Serge Yves Joseph Lafond,

SERGE YVES JOSEPH LAFOND,

2021

LAFOND, Serge Y. – It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Serge at the age of 58 years. Serge was fortunate to have 2 families, the one he was born to and then his extended family of Community Living. He was predeceased by his parents George and Rollande Lafond as well as his brother Normand. He is survived by four sisters Suzanne (Wayne McGary) of Lac Cayament, Suzelle Grossinger of North Bay, Gilberte (George Chartrand) of Gatineau, Danielle Lafond of Kirkland Lake and 1 brother Gérard Lafond also of Kirkland Lake. Serge had several nieces and nephews whom hold very precious memories. As for his Community Living family, there are too many of you to refer to by name, however, some had a very special and important place in Serge’s heart. Karen, you loved taking Serge to Smitty’s and to see the Christmas lights. Darlene, you where such a strong advocate for him and he loved your dog. Gisèle, for being there for him in the most difficult time of his life. There are no words that can express the families gratitude towards his family at the apartment complex. He found peace and happiness when he moved in with you, close to 4 years ago; Donna, Corrine, Tammy, Lynn, Kim and others, Thank you! Then, he’s special angel Bernadet, you never saw the disability in him, only his ability and right to the end. The love and care you gave our brother will never be forgotten, dank je. Serge was best known for his smile and his love of life was contagious. His love of music knew no bounds, he had several collections of cassettes, 8 tracks and CD’s. He also enjoyed several game shows, especially “Wheel of Fortune”. Serge was a very kind and affectionate person towards animals and the people he loved. Serge, tes souffrances sont maintenant terminés. Je te voit marcher, courrir et même danser là haut avec maman et papa. Nous t’aimons et nous allons manqués ton sourrire contagieux. The family will welcome friends at the FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 10 :00 a.m. Funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Serge’s memory may be made to Community Living, Kirkland Lake (51 Government Rd W, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 3H7).Offer Condolence for the family of Serge Yves Joseph Lafond

Danielle and family I am so very sorry for your loss I loved Serge very much and am heart broken at his passing….when he was at first street we had so much fun…he made the work fun he was so helpful all the time and loved to help me when I did the laundry…I just want to share with your family something funny that happened on one of my shifts…Serge asked if he could have a pop and I said yes…he asked everyone if they want one and brought to all who wanted one…and was laughing so hard he was bent right over I knew something was up …then proceeded to put his in the fridge….and all of a sudden there was screaming and yelling coming for the living room….yup you got it he shook everyone’s pop ….I knew I shouldn’t laugh be it but it was so funny I had to walk away ….I am truly blessed for have known Serge … …All my love and respect Brenda Lorenz

I am really going to miss my friend Serge. I can’t count how many times over the years that he made me laugh… and I mean a full out belly laugh. I have many phrases and one liners that I use and always will use that originated with Serge. He was a very important part of my life. He was “my guy” and according to him I was “his guy”. Serge will always be a part of my heart. My condolences to Danielle and all of Serge’s family.
