JACQUES, Roy
In loving memory of Mr. Roy Jacques who passed away at Northview Nursing Home, Englehart, on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the age of 87. Pre-deceased by his wife Laurette (1992), parents Eugene Jacques and Rose Paradis, his daughter Dianne Jacques (2012); his siblings Fernard Jacques, Norman Jacques, Richard Jacques, Ivan Jacques, Jean-Guy Paradis, Alfred Brunet andErnest Brunet. Roy is survived by his sons Rocky (Marianne) Jacques of Gowganda, Roy Jr. (Diane) Jacques of Timmins, daughter Pauline Jacques of Sudbury. His siblings; Nelson of Gogama, Ronald of Windsor, Therese (Brisson) of Montreal, Jacqueline (Brimner ) of Windsor. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and his 13 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Roy will also be remembered by his great friends from Raymond Ohio, and the Hamlets of Gowganda and Gogama. Roy was born in Gogama, and later moved to Sudbury with his parents. Upon the death of his father at age 9, he again followed his mother and her young family back to Gogama. Roy was taken out of school in grade three to help raise his younger siblings. He learned to read, write and speak both English and French by reading the newspaper. He would later become Secretary in the Union of which he was most proud. Roy lived with his son Rocky for 21 years after the loss of his wife. He moved to Northview Nursing Home when his Alzheimer could no longer be managed at home. Roy worked for K V P (Kalamazoo Vegetable and Parchment Company) where he was trained as a truck driver. Later when E.B. Eddy took over he trained on heavy equipment. He remained there for 37 ½ years. In which both Domtar and Eacom later retained ownership. As per his request there will be no visitation or service at this time. Cremation has taken place with the ashes to be interred at the Lasalle Cemetery, Sudbury Ontario.
