In Loving Memory of Ross Douglas Mackey who passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and friends, Friday June 19, 2020 at the age of 66. Ross was born in New Liskeard, April 16, 1954 the youngest of 6 children, to Glen and Olive Mackey. He is predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Wes (Carol) and Bob. Ross is survived by his 3 daughters Kyla Mackey from Alberta, Karen Neumann (Dace) from Alberta, Ravan Mackey from Temagami; 7 grandchildren, Cole, Gracie, Blake, Alexander, Jacey and Owen all from Alberta and Bailey from Temagami. Siblings Ken (Louise), Terry (Gloria), Glenda Matheson (Brian), step brother Bob Willis (Nancy), step sister Susan Fournier (Bob), sister in law Barb Mackey and many nieces and nephews. Ross was a quiet dignified man who had a quick wit and a dry sense of humour. He loved music, listening as well as playing and performing. He loved hockey and played for the Haileybury 54's in the Clubs developing years. Ross worked for many years in the Mines at Manitouwadge. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and enjoyed playing darts throughout the area. He welcomed and cherished his nightly coffee time with friends in Temagami. Time spent with his children and grandchildren was far too short. The family would like to thank Dr. Hutten-Capski, Temiskaming Hospital staff, Temagami EMS, Anik Brown from LHIN, PSW's from Closing the Gap, nurses from Care partners and good friend Wayne Evans for their care and support for Ross. You are appreciated. In keeping with Ross's wishes cremation will take place, with no service.
