I only just learned of Ron’s passing. Such a loss to his family and the town of Kirkland Lake. He replaced the zipper in my leather purse for me many years ago and said it should last forever…seems to be holding true so far. I loved dropping by his shop..the smell of leather and shoe polish reminded me of my own grandfather’s shoe repair shop when I was just a child. We had a long conversation about his dad’s and my gramp’s profession and the new “throw away society”. He will be missed.

A Message for Ron and Family: I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one, I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d lie the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, And remember happy memories that I leave when life is done. Those we love don’t go away. Unseen, unheard, but always near So loved, so missed, so very dear. From Alexis (the neighbor)
