Ronald McCallum,

RONALD MCCALLUM,

2021

On Friday September 23, 2016 Ron McCallum passed away at Extendicare in Kirkland Lake.   Ron was born in Matheson Ontario on August 17, 1932 to his parents Ruth, known as Tootsie and Hugh McCallum, which both have passed away many years ago. Ron has one sister, Lorraine Garbutt of Welland Ontario.   Ron will be missed by his children Debbie, Jackie, Ken, Mike, Louine (Doug) and many grandchildren. Also left to miss him are Helen McCallum and Karen Caswell, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ron previously worked at Walter Little’s of Kirkland Lake as a heavy equipment mechanic, and continued this path for many more years working across Canada on Pipeline Construction. Ron truly loved his work which included very long hours in the hottest of summers and in the coldest of winters. He never complained about his work. He made many good friends over the course of his career. Ron loved good food, good friends and always took pride in every vehicle he ever owned, this included lots of Turtle Wax.   The family would like to express a sincere thank-you to the staff of Extendicare. Words cannot express the compassion and kindness that was given to Ron and his family in his last days, we could not have gotten through this without all your support.     A special thank-you to Nora Barker and Pat Skalecki.Graveside Farewell:

Ronnie was my idol as a teenager. He was always kind and generous to me during those early years of my life. I am so glad that we met for lunch a few years ago in North Bay, where he was as smiling and open as ever. Condolences to all his family. Cousin Jim Smith
