Robert Miller,

ROBERT MILLER,

2021

In loving memory of Robert (Bob) Joseph Miller, 85 years of age who passed away peacefully at Finlandia Nursing Home in Sudbury. Son of Walter & Adele Miller (predeceased). Beloved husband of Bernice (predeceased). Loving father of daughters Gaye Lynn (predeceased) and Tracey and son Robert Jr. and daughter-in-law, Joanne of Sudbury. Loving grandfather of Trevor (Erin) of Mississauga and Brent in Edmonton. Dear brother of William (predeceased), Bud (Helen), Betty Krachuk all of Kirkland Lake. He will be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and his many nephews and nieces. Bob was born and raised in Swastika and lived in Kirkland Lake throughout his adult life, retiring from his position as administrator of the KL Board of Education in 1991. He was an avid card player and enjoyed his games of bridge and cribbage. Bob attained the Life Master in Bridge Award in 1982. He loved most sports and in his younger years was considered a top-notch goaltender in the old Intermediate and Senior leagues in Kirkland Lake and was also active in soccer with Lakeshore Mines. Later on he focused his energies on swimming many, many laps at the complex pool, golfing with family and friends and he could be seen skiing on the KL Complex trails on most winter days. He loved watching his Toronto Blue Jays with a passion and cheered and jeered them on in a way that only those that really knew Bob would understand. Bob was a devoted member of Trinity United Church and assisted in many roles in church operations, from treasure to head usher. He was very giving of his time and volunteered his services with Meals on Wheels, the Encore Club, the KL Duplicate Bridge club and Cancer’s Relay for Life. Our sincere thanks go out to the fantastic staff at Finlandia Nursing Home for their caring and thoughtfulness during Bob’s stay there and in particular during his final weeks. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held from Trinity United Church (corner of Duncan Ave. & Second St.) on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. with The Reverend David Bould officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in the family plot in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Finnish Rest Home Society (233 Fourth Ave. Sudbury, ON. P3B 4C3) or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (P.O. Box 1122 Kirkland Lake, ON. P2N 3M7).Offer Condolence for the family of Robert Miller
