RITA ANNA PORTELANCE,

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Rita Portelance announces her unexpected passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital at the age of 87 years. She was a long time resident of Kenogami Lake. Rita’s membership in both Fille d’isabelle and Club 50+ gave her much pleasure. She was predeceased by: her parents Catherine (nee Richard) and Leon Hamelin of Ile du Grand Calumet; her husband Chris Portelance; son, Joseph Portelance; two grandsons, two brothers and a stepmother. Rita is remembered by: her son and daughter-in-law, Denis and Diane Portelance,and daughter-in-law Linda (all of Kirkland Lake); seven grandchildren Melisa, Leo, Denise, Robert, Cindy, Andre and Paul; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Henri Touaboy officiating. Rita will be cremated and laid to rest beside her loving husband in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery at a later date. Memere was a strong, loving Mother, Memere and Grand Memere. No matter what she always smiled and laughed and had a great sense of humor. She always seen the best in everyone. If you ever needed a supporting ear, hug or smile she was always there for you. Memere you will always be with us. You are an ANGEL in every way. As we grieve the loss of such a wonderful person who has touched so many lives I find piece in knowing that I will see her again someday. I know there are a million stories that we all have and in those stories she will always be a part us and never forgotten.
