GILLETT, Richard "Rick"

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Richard Perry Gillett, 55, of Englehart Ontario on June 28, 2023.

Rick was born on May 1, 1968 to Hazel and Jack Gillett in Kirkland Lake Ontario. Rick graduated from Elliot Lake Secondary School in 1986, he then went on to study in the Welder Fitter program at Northern College in Kirkland Lake.

After graduating from Northern College, Rick went on to work for several companies in the welding fabrication industry. Rick was a long time employee at Nor-Arc Steel Fabricators in Earlton Ontario for over 20 years. He started as a welder fitter and in more recent years, Rick enjoyed his position in Health and Safety supporting Nor-Arc Steel Fabricators.

Rick is survived by his mother, Hazel Gillett (Jack deceased), his brother Allan Gillett (Maureen), his sister Cathleen Treadwell (Robin), and his nephews Micheal Treadwell (Trish) and Scott Treadwell (Kayla).

Services will be held at the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative, Englehart, on Monday July 10, 2023 at 11am. Reception to follow at Rebekah Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Diabetes Association or charity of choice.

The Gillett Family’s

I did not realize Rick had passed away and am so sorry for the entire family. I worked with Rick at Grant Forest Products and was his Forman. Rick and I instantly became very good friends. He was such an easy going guy and his laugh was infectious. He was an incredible person and a fabulous welder. He was also such a friendly and easy person to be around. I am so very sorry for his passing
