GéRARD DEMERS,

It is with deep sadness that we announce Gérard’s peaceful passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Saturday, October 15, 2011. Gérard was predeceased by his parents Emile and Malvina (née Riopel) Demers; his brothers Alphonse and Henri Demers; his sisters Anita St-Amour, Jeannette Lefebvre and Rita Lajeunesse. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his beloved wife Denise (née Proulx); his dear children Roger Demers, Louise (Bill) McCurdy, Carole (Robert) Murdoch all of Kirkland Lake; his cherished grandchildren Alissa Demers of Victoria, Aaron Demers of Kirkland Lake, Ryan (Erin) McCurdy of Ottawa, Sean McCurdy of Kirkland Lake, Lauren and Ryan Murdoch also of Kirkland Lake as well as his precious great grandchild Caiden McCurdy. Gérard is also survived by his sisters Leona (Emile) Mousseau, Alice St-Jean both of Timmins and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Paroisse Assomption. Donations in Gérard’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (P.O. Box 1122, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3M7) or to the Kirkland & District Hospital Foundation (145 Government Road East, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3P4).Offer Condolence for the family of Gérard Demers
