HASTIE, Patricia

1943 - 2015

At 72 years of age, on June 26th, 2015, a Special Angel was given her wings to be with our Dad(Bill Hastie.) Our Mom, Pat(Patricia Hastie) fought a courageous short battle with Cancer. Although, it took her life, her Strength and determination did not allow Cancer to take her mind. Our Mom was the kind of Mother who always put her daughters and husband`s needs before her own. She loved her family so much, she was often known to her friends of how proud she was of her family. There were many special moments in her life, but a few were the special gift of her two grandchildren. The first born, Seth was the highlight of Mom`s and Dad`s life. They were often seen in town introducing Seth to their friends, feeding ducks and shopping. As Seth grew older, Mom and Seth were often at the dining table on their lap tops playing mindcraft. Also, Mom was always in attendance at Seth`s various sporting activities and school plays. As Kaleb grew older, he always knew where `Grandma`s` treat cupboard was, and she looked forward to `facetime` with Kaleb. Mom loved them both and made sure they were spoiled just as `Grandmas` always do. Another special moment, was Mom`s work with the Town of Kirkland Lake and the Museum for The Tunnelling in Glasgow, Scotland. She worked diligently to ensure that people knew how important and significant that project was. A plaque now sits at the Kinross Pond explaining this. Mom was dedicated to family and most proud by the recent accomplishments of her nephew Matthew Norris. His on going updates to Mom about his education at Cardiff University in England always made Mom smile. Matthew and wife Erika would send photos of their first pregnancy, and Mom was looking forward to seeing their forst born. Judi and Paul Norris were also a big part of Mom`s life, who she cherished and loved very much. Judi and Paul always made sure Mom was doing alright especially after Dad`s passing. Judi, Paul,Matti and Erika have always played, and continue to play an important role in Mom`s family. Her last surving sister, Margret Riopelle(Clifford Riopelle) was of great importance to Mom. She always spoke to her daily and enjoyed hearing and seeing photos of their vacations. Mom had several nieces and nephews who she spoke to often and enjoyed those joyful conversations and letters. Our Mom was not only a `Mom,` she was a kind, loving, and very generous and caring person and our Best Friend!. She enjoyed seeing people smile and excited when she made someone`s day. Mom was known to have helped several charities in Kirkland Lake, school events and for pizza day for children, hockey club donations, swim team to name a few. Many town employees knew Mom and her thoughtfullness for what they do in our little town. Mom will be missed so much by Michele(Murray Shortt,) Ericka(David Iggy Iwasiewicz,)Kaleb and Kelico(Nurse Kelico) Bruce Guertin and Seth. As the Hummingbirds come each Spring, a flutter by your face, will be Mom saying she`s back to say hello. Our Guardian Angel forever and always! Mom was predeceased by her late Husband, Bill Hastie, sister Jean-Marie, sister Eunice, mother Jean Jamieson and her loving father John Jamieson.
