1931 - 2020

Norman Alton Drew born July 18th 1931 in Sherbrook Quebec, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday February 9th 2020 at the Northview Nursing Home in Englehart Ontario. Norman spent his youth growing up in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. His family migrated to the Ottawa area when he was a young man where he met his wife to be. Norman married Diane Leslie Sime on June 20th 1953, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the army. He served for six years and upon discharge held various vocations throughout his working life. At work he was regarded as an honest hardworking employee and supervisor. In midlife he and his wife Diane thoroughly enjoyed their Jersey Farm in Marter Township, winning several ribbons at the local fairs. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching three generations participate in Hockey, Figure Skating, Swimming and Baseball. He is survived by his wife Diane and his four children Kathy Chaput ( Henri), Karen Rule ( Randy), Howard Drew ( Anne), Janice Simmens ( Daniel) and his brother Ronald Drew. He is also survived by six grandsons Matthew, Jesse, Isaac , Jamin, Joshua and Zachary and by four great grandchildren Camren, Addisyn, Malachi and Siikwan. He is predeceased by his parents Howard and Vivian Drew and his brothers Austin, Leslie, Leonard and his sister Phyllis. As per Normans wishes no service will be held. The family is meeting privately to hold a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
