1939 - 2012

It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Morley McMahon, at the age of 72, on February 1, 2012 at the Englehart and District Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Elk Lake 28 May 1939 to Leslie Andrew McMahon and Mae Grace Clement. He was pre-deceased by his twin brothers in 1932, his father Les in 1975, his mother Mae in 2001, his sister Leona in 1960, his brother-in-law Phil Marion in 1989, his brother-in-law Raymond Cormier in 2010, his brother-in-law Hank Lafleur in 2010, his sister-in-law Clara Davey in 1996, and his sister-in-law Bernice Pym in 2009. He is survived by his loving wife Rita (Lafleur-Thompson) and her son Jeff; his children Shawn (Donna) and Carrie (Rob Hawkins), and their mother Marg McMahon and his grand-children Brittany and Brandon, Lindsay, and Doug. Also survived by his sisters Joyce (Ken), Marilyn (Richard), Aldine (Fred), Darlene (late Raymond), Debbie (Gerry) and his brothers Norman (Aldine), Allan (Linda), Stephen (Bertha) and Dwight (Debbie) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He retired from the Ontario Northland Railway after 27 years of service as a bus driver. His last bus run was 26 Jan 1997. He was a member of the Montreal River Branch #310 Legion in Elk Lake, Elk Lake Masonic Lodge #507 and the Northland Shriner Club of North Bay. The family of the late Mr. Morley McMahon will receive friends at the Montreal River Branch #310 Legion in Elk Lake on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm for a “celebration of life” service. In memory contributions to Bikers Reunion or the Montreal River Branch #310 Legion will be greatly appreciated by the family.
