MONTMINY, Mike
In loving memory of Mr. Mike Montminy, who passed away at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, due to complications following open heart surgery, on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the age of 56. He was born in South Temiscamingue, Quebec, June 16, 1956, to George Montminy and Estelle Chenier. Mike was an Emergency Medical Attendant at the Englehart & District Hospital – where he was one of the “Fabulous Four†until heath issues forced his retirement from the career he loved. He worked at various other jobs including being the DJ at CJBB 103.1 FM, Englehart, again having to leave the position due to health reasons. He loved music; played in several bands – specifically SCREWDOVER – comprised of high school friends which “regrouped†to plat at fundraising events i.e. the Englehart & Area Arena Complex. He also DJ’d numerous weddings, anniversary parties and fund events over a period of time of approximately 25 years. Special thank you to Doctors Bittira and MacDonald, who did their best to provide Mike with a better quality of life, by performing the surgery. Also to the ICU staff at Health Sciences North – Nurses Bonnie and Laurie who took the time to explain what they were doing when caring for Mike and the consideration and compassion they showed to his wife, children and brother Mark (&Bev) – our presence was not a burden. To Doctors Manchuk and Boyle who explained every stage of Mike’s care to the family. He is survived by his wife Virginia (Ginny), his children Aaron & his wife Jennifer, Vanessa (Travis Ryan); the lights of his life, his grandchildren Felicity, Jonathan and Maria Montminy. Also survived by his parents George & Estelle Montminy of Englehart, his sister Susan Bond (Gary White) of South River, brothers Robert (Stacey) of Pembroke and Mark (Bev) of Englehart. Also survived by Montminy Family and Schinkel Family nieces and nephews who all loved Uncle Mike. The family of the late Mr. Michel Montminy will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Monday, July 30, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Englehart Arena Complex on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 am. Pastor Stephen Wuerch officiating. In memory contributions to Charlton Englehart Lions Club or the Rotary club of Englehart will be greatly appreciated by the family.
