STEELE, Mary (née Teed)It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary at Teck Pioneer Residence on October 26, 2019; a candle that has been burning brightly for 96 years. Mary was born in McCool Township on April 26, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Kirkland Lake. She was a lifetime member and Past President of Branch 87 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Past Senior Regent of Chapter 351 Women of the Moose. Mary spent her best years working at local retail stores such as Easton’s, Mary’s Ladies Wear, Ellie’s dress shop and Reitman’s.  She always enjoyed serving the citizens of Kirkland Lake with a smile on her face. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Eva Teed, and her brother Watson Teed; her sisters Edith Sache, Sparky Teed, Evelyn Behan and Muriel Smith.Mary will be missed by her son Colvin (predeceased), his children Randy (Kelly Steele) and great-grandchildren Brianna and Mitchell, his daughters, Katrina and Corrine Steele; Mary’s daughter, Faye Ranger (Michael Malik) her daughter Janice (Mark Stewart) and her son Adam (Cynthia Beaubien); and Mary’s youngest daughter, Sandra (Philip) Sullivan, her son Trevor (Jennifer Sullivan) and great-granddaughters Alyssa and Alexa; her daughter Shannon (Mitch Jerome) and great-granddaughters Ella and Emmalin.In keeping with Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private cemetery service will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the French Family Funeral Home, 111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake.DONATIONS:
