1931 - 2012

After a short illness Mary Scott passed away at Englehart & District Hospital on Saturday September 1st, 2012 at the age of 80. Mary was born in Englehart on December 16th 1931 to Joe & Catherine Bates of Chamberlain. She married Malcolm (Mac) Scott on November 8th, 1950. Mary devoted her life to helping Mac in operating a planning mill In Evanturel Township and raise her 5 children. In later years spent hours doing puzzles along with her love of sewing, making quilts and knitting (Nanny’s) famous mitts, socks and scarf’s for all the grandchildren. She also enjoyed her evening out playing bingo and weekly summer yard sales which brought home a great selection of bells and collectable Avon Bottles. Pre-deceased by her husband Mac. She is survived by 5 children, Diana Scott of Tarzwell, Richard (Vicki) Scott of Belmont, Steven (Lena) of St Thomas, Douglas (Lucy Gauthier) Scott of Haileybury and Ginny (George) Peever of North Bay. 9 Grandchildren, Jason (Tanya) Scott, Stephanie (Justin) Miller, Maxine (Brian) Samson, Bradley Peever, Maryanne and Heather Scott, Chantal (Dennis) Barlow, Stephane (Suzanne) Gauthier, Jennifer (James) Adshead, and 13 grandchildren. Mary is also survived by 1 sister Edna Mills of Englehart. The family of the late Mrs. Mary Scott will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Wednesday, September 5, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at McDonald Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, at 11:00 am. Pastor Stephen Wuerch officiating. Pallbears will be Mary’s grandchildren Jason Scott, Bradley Peever, Maryanne Scott, Heather Scott and friends Buzz Lacarte and Kameron Stoesz. Interment to follow at the Englehart Cemetery.
