Mary Frances Wilson,

MARY FRANCES WILSON,

2021

Mary Frances Wilson passed away peacefully at Teck Pioneer Residence on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in her 86th year. Mary grew up in Grand Falls, Newfoundland with her 3 sisters. At 17 she was off to St John’s to become a nurse. After graduation, she met her first husband Wilfred Cameron, who was from Kirkland Lake. They were married and had 5 children together. Widowed at the young age of 31 years, she went on to raise her children with the help of Wilf’s family. Mary told her children many wonderful stories of her life “back home” and they often read her memoirs and enjoy them to this day. Mary later married Enoch Wilson (deceased 2007) and they shared 37 years together. Mary was a wonderful Mom, and even while battling Alzheimer’s disease, she brought joy with her bright eyes, her laugh, and her sweet ways. She was very free with her “I love you’s” and a fine lady till the end. Her new family at TPR also shared “I love you’s” with her, and the family is very grateful to TPR staff for making “our sweet Momma” feel at home. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Enoch Wilson and son Clair Cameron. She was the proud mother of Valerie (Howard) Martell, Jackie Ring, Shawn (Shirley) Cameron, Debbie (Ron) Klatt, Terry (Andrea) Cameron and Cindy (Mike) Ringrose. She will be fondly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her sister Margaret Smith of Mississauga. The family will receive relatives and friends at the French Family Funeral Home (111 Burnside Dr. Kirkland Lake) on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rob Slote officiating. Mary will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario (1600-20 Eglinton Ave. W. Toronto, ON. M4R 1K8) or to the Teck Pioneer Residence – Activity Fund (P.O. Box 3800, Kirkland Lake, P2N 3P4).Offer Condolence for the family of Mary Frances Wilson
