MARION JOSEPHINE HAMMOND,

HAMMOND, Marion Josephine – Passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Kirkland & District Hospital at the age of 72 years. Predeceased by her parents May and Dan Lalonde, niece Mary Jane VanCurrick and nephew Dean Lalonde. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her beloved husband James; her son Doug; her 2 grandsons Justin (Canadace), Cody; her sister Caroline (Eric) MacMillan, Hilda (late Amos) Doonan; her sister-in-law Jean (late Jerry) VanCurrick as well as several nieces and nephews. Family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. with Harvey Delport officiating. Jim, Doug and family: My most sincere condolences on Marion’s passing. She was a most treasured and unique soul and Swastika has certainly lost one more bright star! I am a better person because I knew her. She was a great influence on my life and, I am sure, on the lives of many others. She taught me how to calculate batting averages for goodness sake!
