Maria Howerow, age 96, passed away at Kirkland and District Hospital on March 13, 2018. Born October 15, 1921 in the Ukraine, she settled in Kirkland Lake shortly after immigrating to Canada in 1951. Maria Howerow was predeceased by her son Oleg and her husband Jury. She is survived by her son, Egor of Guelph; her daughter Natalie of London; her daughter Louisa and her husband Jean Yves Dupraz of London; her grandsons Francois Dupraz and his partner Jennifer Labelle of Montreal, Christopher Nobes and his partner Alexis Layton of London; her granddaughter Isabelle Dupraz and partner Jon Watt of Edinburgh, Scotland. The family truly appreciates the exceptional care, attention and kindness the fourth floor and Palliative Care Unit staff provided Maria Howerow and her family during this time. Many thanks are also extended to the staff at Community Care Access Centre, Volunteers, friends and neighbours for their help and friendship. We also acknowledge the assistance provided to Maria Howerow and her family by the French Family Funeral Home.Disposition:
