The Horst Family

Our sincere sympathy, thoughts, prayers and condolences going to the Horst family and extended family at this time of loss.
I first met this family in 1979 when they moved north an purchased our main family farm in Kenabeek. We became neighbors and friends at this time. Over the next years I attended Bible School with them (Loreen was one of my teachers) and also the same church until I left for college and then soon after got married.
After getting married we continued to see each other at the very busy Farmer's Markets in New Liskeard where the family was known in the kitchen and for their awesome donuts!
We kind of became distant after this time period as everyone seemed busy with their own lives etc, I always enjoyed our visits even though not frequent and appreciated the visits no matter how short. The Horsts were always supportive over the years and were there when my parents passed away and also supported my husband when his parents passed away as well. Loreen was a lovely lady who will be missed by many.
May the Lord comfort, lift the emptiness, and ease your pain in this very difficult time. If we can help in any way let us know. Thinking about you all during this difficult time....

The Horst Family

Dear Ken and family - please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of this beautiful women. I have many fond memories of visiting Uncle Dan and Aunt Nancy, and playing with my cousins. Even though Loreen is older than I am, I still recall her kind and gentle spirit during my growing up years. We loved to see your family during reunions and miss those times together. Blessings to you and your family as you enter the next phase of this journey. Losing a parent and spouse is never easy but there is comfort knowing that she is in the arms of Jesus.
Love Linda (Leis) and Dennis Holst

Our sympathies go out to Ken and the fine family of girls. We thank them for the food they delivered to us in Kirkland Lake and enjoyed meeting them at the market. We even bumped into Ester Mae some years ago in northern BC. May your fine wife and mother, Loreen rest in peace.
