Dear Louise & Estelle Please accept my sincere condolences in Leo’s passing . . The last I heard he had completed his chemotherapy in late July . .and he seemed happy . . I did not realize he had passed away . . I had just messaged him my Christmas wishes . . when he did not reply, I feared the worst . . I have known Leo for many years . . he has shared so many happy stories about you, his family . . and I know he loved you all very much . . Although I knew he was very ill . . he was so positive . . it seemed he would live forever . . He always showed a strength in his Catholic religion . . we used to debate the pros and cons . . – we often discussed, in length, his French background . . . and my Irish background . . Leo was a thoughtful, caring and giving person . . who will be sorely missed . . – an inspiration to all . . May he rest in peace . . .

In loving memory of Léo Jules Dupont who passed away on December 6th, 2020, at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital in Ottawa. Born on October 6th, 1948, in Kirkland Lake to his late parents; Paul E. Dupont and Marie R. Bélanger. Leo is predeceased by his brother, Donald Dupont (2018). He is survived by his sisters; Louise Pecoski-Labonté (Joe) and Estelle Dupont. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Chrstine (Richie) Griffith, Joanne Morneault, Carole (Steven) O’Neil, Michelle (Tracy) Fillion and Yves (Shylo) Dupont.After obtaining his Masters in Education at the University of Ottawa, Léo worked for more than 20 years as a special needs advisor at Collège La Cité (formerly la Cité collégiale) in Ottawa. His expertise and dedication have always made him highly appreciated and very popular with students. With his colleagues, it was his professionalism, generosity and teamwork that set him apart. He will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of working with him for many years.In keeping with Léo’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Après avoir obtenu sa Maîtrise en Éducation à l’Université d’Ottawa, Léo a travaillé pendant plus de 20 ans comme conseiller en besoins spéciaux au Collège La Cité (anciennement la Cité collégiale) à Ottawa. Son expertise et son dévouement l’ont toujours rendu très apprécié et très populaire auprès les étudiants. Auprès de ses collègues c’est son professionnalisme, sa générosité et son travail d’équipe qui lui distinguaient. Il va manquer à tous ceux et celles qui ont eu le plaisir de travailler avec lui pendant de nombreuses annéesEn respectant ses derniers voeux, la crémation a eu lieu.
