In loving memory of Leo Blais who passed away peacefully at Temiskaming Hospital on Friday January 29, 2021 at the age of 90. Survived by his loving wife Molly of 68 years, children Susan (Dan) McVittie, Lorrie (Ken) Montgomery and Paul. Also survived by his grandchildren Scott McVittie (Mark Baker), Jennifer (Dave) Brown, Kevin McVittie (Jessica Plante), Kenny (Erin) Montgomery, David and Matthew Montgomery, Molly Blais, great grandchildren, Landon McVittie, Mackenzie and Lacey Brown. Also survived by his sister Margaret (late Roland) Lecoupe, sister in law Mary Blais and many nieces and nephews. Leo had a 37 year career with Northern Telephone in both Timmins and New Liskeard and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Leo spent many years as a New Liskeard Lions Club member. He was also on the Temiskaming Shores Minor Hockey Executive. Leo enjoyed his time on the golf course but most of all enjoyed spending time in his workshop doing his woodworking. Leo and Molly were very fortunate to have spent many winters in Florida. He was very proud of the cottage he built on Twin Lakes where many happy family memories were made. The best way to describe Leo would be a family man. He devoted his entire life to them from doting on the love of his life Molly, to never missing hockey practices or games, music festivals or dance recitals. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Northdale Manor, Dr Logan, Dr Davies, Anne Venne, Dr Corbeil, Dr Gorecki and the ER staff at Temiskaming Hospital for their care and kindness. If desired donations to Northdale Manor or St Paul’s United Church would be greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place and due to the current Covid 19 restrictions there will not be a service at this time.
