Laurier Meunier New Liskeard resident Laurier Meunier died suddenly on April 28, 2009, at the Toronto General Hospital. He was born on August 10, 1925, in Crysler, Ontario, to Joseph Meunier and Ovila Serré. Mr. Meunier moved to New Liskeard from Crysler when he was four years old and went on to work in refrigeration maintenance. He loved hunting, fishing and camping, he played the violin and harmonica and he also enjoyed horseshoes and bowling. Mr. Meunier was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ovila; first wife Regente Seguin; wife Thérèse Gauvin whom he married October 30, 1960 in Nédelec, Quebec; brothers Antoine and Gérard Meunier; and sister Bertha Jacques. He is survived by his children Denise (Henri Goudreault), Cécile (Paul Labrèche), Marcel (Gertrude Lafond), Lorraine (Jean-Guy Grandmont), Daniel (Christine Plante) and Manon (Eric Ethier); 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister Emelda Hamel. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard with the mass conducted by Father Richard Ngoy on May 4 at Sacred Heart Church. Cremation has taken place.
