ARCHER, Larry
Passed away peacefully on December 3,2016 at Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, at the age of 89. Father to Kirk (Judy) of Englehart, Keven (Cheryl) of Corbeil, and Kyle of North Bay. Grandfather to Tara, Tanis, Holli, Kelsey and Tegan. Great grandfather to Colton, Avery, Lola, Leo, Luca, Gabriel and Kaylie. Predeceased by his first wife Fern and second wife Phyllis and grandson Ryan. Larry was from a generation where a full life meant finding a job, settling down and putting down roots. He lived his entire married life in the same house in a neighbourhood where friends (and feuds) lasted a lifetime. Old railroaders were familiar faces at the kitchen table, chatting while Larry puttered at the kitchen sink or wiped the stove of grease spatters from the ever-present pan of bacon he was always simmering. `Don`t say I never fed you,` he`d say as he offered up bacon sandwiches to anyone who stayed the night or stood in the kitchen for more than 10 minutes. Larry never thought he`d see his 50th birthday, never mind his 89th, or become a grandfather and great grandfather. Not much for sentiment (with the exception of Bobby Orr), Larry couldn`t hide the fact he adored his grandkids, and his grandkids adored their Poppa. No one was privy to his secret stash of chocolate bars except his grandkids, and every visit, they were invited to help themselves. As per Larry`s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and spring internment will take place in the Englehart Cemetery.
