NIXON, Laina Louisa

In loving memory of Mrs. Laina Louisa Nixon who passed away at Englehart & District Hospital, on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the age of 89. Laina was born June 24, 1922 in Evijarvi, Finland and was the daughter of Matti and Elli Norppa. She immigrated with her family to Canada at the age of 16. She married John Nixon and together they built a family farm into a modern dairy farm where they raised their family. Pre-deceased by her husband John, grandson Aaron, one brother Eric Norppa and sister Gertrude Watt. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Ken) Lenart of Englehart, Ingrid (Chauncey) Corley of Englehart, Irene (Eric) Moore of Parksville, B.C., sons; George (Beth) of Elkford, B.C., and Mark (Nancy) of Round Rock, Texas. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Tracy (Tom), Mike (Noreen), Jonathan, Matthew (Melanie), Mary, Megan, Cassie, Jordan & Joshua. Also by her great grandchildren Mackenzie & Brendon, Macy, Finn & Leif and one sister Sirkka Everitt. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation to take place. Burial at the Charlton Cemetery next summer. Special thanks to the Nursing Staff at the Englehart & District Hospital where she resided for a number of years. Thank You to Rev.
