I always referred to Joyce and Roy as an aunt and uncle. They were special people to me and my family. Joyce loved to laugh and share her view on life with everyone. She made us feel important and loved. My early childhood KL if filled with memories of my parents sharing great times with Joyce and Roy and I remember their wedding, too. They would come to Ottawa and visit our cottage and the fun we’d have. I’d listen to the dad and Roy chatting around the campfire about life as they knew it. Joyce and mom would always find things to do and would end up laughing and enjoying our time together. My condolences to Janice and family. Mitch Vineyard

Joyce passed away a year and two days after my mother, her friend, Betty Vineyard. I always enjoyed talking with Joyce and seeing her enthusiasm for life. Her smile lit up the room! I know that she felt deeply and her love of life and her faith helped her persevere through many challenging life circumstances. I was a young child and threw confetti at St Peter’s church the day she married Roy Allen. My parents and the Allens shared many fun times. Please accept my condolences Janice.

Janice and family- It came as a surprise to Mom to find her dear friend has gone home. She always sent birthday greetings and kept in touch with Mom since they were girls. We did so enjoy her visit to Nova Scotia. She will greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Joyces passing. I will always remember her advice to me that we get to choose our outlook each day. In spite of many challenges I dont think I can recall a single time that Joyce did not greet me with a smile or a song. She will be missed very much in our community. Rest well Joyce with a song in your heart.
