Joseph Alexander MacDonald Nov. 15, 1927 â€` Nov. 20, 2009 In loving memory of Mr. Joseph “Joeâ€Alexander MacDonald who passed away quietly at the Maison Valley Inco Hospice, Sudbury on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the age of 82. Having moved his young family from Toronto to New Liskeard in 1954, Joseph began an extensive career in the automotive industry and eventually relocated to Sudbury in 1971. He served on the New Liskeard Roman Catholic School Board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. After his retirement, Joe volunteered for ten years with the Greater Sudbury Police Services. Those who knew him best would agree that he was a man of few words, yet his actions spoke volumes. He inspired his children with his quiet acceptance of the challenges that came his way but it is the unwavering faith that remains the legacy that he leaves behind. Pre-deceased by his wife Elizabeth (Howard) and four of his siblings, sisters Rosemarie, Jean, Nancy and brother Paul. He is survived by 4 children, Janice (John), Susan, John (Diane), Mike (Nicole), and his much loved grandchildren Michelle (Yulian), David, Steven, Kevin (Adrienne), Amy (Corey), Ian, Nell, Brian and Allison and his great grandchildren Arwyn, Samuel, Elizabeth, his brother Jack, his many nieces and nephews. The family of the late Mr. Joe MacDonald will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Monday, November 23, from 9 - 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Monday, November 23, at 11:00 am. Father Wayne Mills officiating. Interment to follow at the Englehart Cemetery.
