He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and his woodstove. He loved going in the bush for firewood. He will be remembered for reading Auto Trader magazines and watching antique car auctions on T.V. On September 20, 1971, John received recognition from the Royal Canadian Humane Association, Honorary Testimonial Heroism for rescuing five sisters of religious order from drowning in Gull Lake. John was very kind hearted and loved to have fun. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, especially his family. So sorry to hear. I spent many days at Mr. Clermonts house…because that is how he was known when we were younger…no first name basis back then. Connie my deepest condolences…your dad was a kind man and always wlcoming of all of us hanging around. He had the biggest smile and when I would see him years later…and I mean years…he was so excited to catch up and see how life was treating me. Condolences to Connie, Melody and John.
Thank you so much Kathleen from Melody, John and myself. Yes, dad really enjoyed chatting with us all and joking around. You, Di, Peggy and I. It was like he had a pile of daughters and he worried about all of us as we were growing up. He really was a great dad. Kathleen wishing you all the best.
