It is with sorrow that the family of Noel Rheault announces his passing on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Teck Pioneer Residence at the age of 87 years. He was born in New Liskeard on February 3, 1924 and was predeceased by his parents Blanche née Duhamel and Henri Rheault; sister Fernande on March 18, 2003; brother Gilles on December 22, 2003 and brother in law Blythe Thompson on October 9, 2003. Noel is survived by his sisters Denise Thompson of Kirkland Lake and Therese Boucher of Kanata; niece Therese Nault of Terrebonne, QC.; nephews Gerald Gareau of Richmond, QC., Norman Boucher of Calgary, AB., Roger Boucher of Kanata, ON., and Richard Boucher of Thunder Bay, ON. Noel was educated in New Liskeard. He worked many years at the Kerr Addison Gold Mine until his retirement. Noel enjoyed music and his daily walk around Kirkland Lake. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 87, Encore Club and Holy Name Parish. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service to follow in the “Teck – Hughes Chapel” at 12:00 p.m. with Father Wayne Mills officiating. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Noel will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Haileybury in the spring.
