It is with deep sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Jean-Guy Desgagnés at the Blanche River Hospital on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at the age of 85 yrs. Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Jackie Desgagnés (Crawford). Predeceased by his parents Jean-Louis and Béatrice (Gauthier) and his brother Claude (Patricia).
He will be forever missed by his children Roger (Rosanne), Cathy (Lauren), André (Tracey), Aline and Roy Kayser (Elissa). Grand-children Lee-Ann (Ryan), Carissa (Justin), Nathalie (Nate), Eric (Sarah), Stephanie (Mychelle). Great grand-children Ava, Tessa (Ashton), Emma, Karter, Tehya, Zoe, Ryder, Fredrik and Ben.
Survived by his sister Claudette (predeseaced Euclide), brothers Gilbert (Lise), Maurice (Dodie) and Robert (Noella). Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews and loving friends. He loved spending time having coffee with Fern, Yvonand Noel (predeseased) and friends at Mc Donalds. He would attend KL Gold Miners and Rouyn Huskies hockey games with his hockey buddies Noel Guimond (predeseased) and his son Mike Guimond.
Jean-Guy was born in Granada, QC. He attended school in Rouyn, QC, Larder Lake ON and KLCVI in Kikland Lake, ON. He was in the Naval Service for 5years. He delivered milk for Producers Dairy and Kormans Dairy. He owned Toastmaster Bread in Timmins,ON and he worked for United Supply. He was a Purchasing Agent for Normick Perron and The Truck Shop in Kirkland Lake, ON. He also worked as a Commissaire for the DVA and was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus.
We would like to thank Dr. Moore, Dr. Lee, the KL Blanche River Hospital Staff and the Sudbury ICU staff for all their great care and support during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place through the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
