I have wonderful memories of my Aunt Jean and my cousins, Greg, Bill, Wendy and Marjorie (and they all babysitted me at one time or another!). I have also inherited lovely stories of the McMillan family – Jean and her many siblings – as they grew up across Canada and in Poltimore, Quebec and Ottawa. In my mind, she was really a story of strength and “just get on with living” kind of person for whom I will always have enormous respect. I know she will be greatly missed by her family and anyone who knew her. Rest in peace.

Living out on the prairies I only met Aunt Jean a few times. I thought she was very striking with her dark hair. She was very tiny but had such a strong and confident spirit. My Mom, May, shared so many great stories of her sisters and brothers whom she valued so highy. I have a memory of riding in Auntie Jean’s VW with her when I was 17 and Mom and I were in Toronto for Marjorie’s wedding. When she went about a block too far she made a very bold and (illegal?) U-turn on Yonge St. Pretty exciting stuff for a skinny kid from Asquith SK! Marj and Bill my sincere condolences for the loss of your Mom. I hope you can find comfort in your memories of Jean and in the support and love of your own families at this time.
