Jack Siemon,

JACK SIEMON,

2021

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the loss of their cherished husband, father and brother on Friday, April 16th, 2010 losing his strong, positive battle with cancer. Predeceased by his mother Angeline Siemon (Gale) and father Harvey, he leaves to mourn his loving wife Linda (Sweeney) and his precious children Jennifer, Jonathan, Jana and Caitlin. He will be missed by his sister Gale Hamilton (Brian) and brother William Siemon (Peggy) of Simcoe and his many loving nieces and nephews. Jack embraced life with arms wide open. His first passion was his family, but those who were lucky enough to have known him saw that passion flow into his love of music and great friendships. Jack was a hard working, well respected businessman and the success of his company Goldbelt was just one of his countless accomplishments. Always a supporter of the North, Jack proudly served on various local and provincial initiatives such as Rotary, TemFund and the Kirkland Lake Economic Development Association and was honoured to chair the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund. Known for his humour, independence and strength, Jack happily took the “road less travelled”. He will forever be in our hearts. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the Monette & French Funeral Home. Contributions in Jack’s memory may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research (Suite 804, 789 Don Mills Rd. Toronto, Ontario M3C 1T5 or www.terryfox.org), a cause held dear to his heart for many years. "MY LIFE"S BEEN GRAND"Offer Condolence for the family of Jack Siemon

Hello Linda and family, I feel very fortunate to have called Jack my friend, to have shared the stage with him and worked so very hard to make us the best band in the north. We went to public school together as kids and then later, KLCVI. We had a long friendship and I am grateful for it. I will miss him and think of our times for the rest of my life. Lynn and I share your grief and sorrow. Esa

Linda and Family: Jack was a modern man with old fashioned values. These were tried, true and set the bar high for others. Family, and everyone else, have been bettered by knowing him. Rest assured he made his mark. Bill, Lynda, Drew.

Dear Linda and Family, Our world just isn’t as great a place today…..our sincere sympathy and prayers to the family! We were blessed just to be in Jack’s circle and rest assured his legacy will without a doubt be his love of family and his wonderful children who will surely be a testament to Jack’s engaging spirit and energy! Jack’s greatest gift may simply have been that if you took the time to immerse yourself in conversation with Jack and listen to his message, you likely came away with something of value. God Bless!!

I knew Jack for a couple of years. We not only shared a street, we also shared an intense love for music. When Jack offered to help me out with my drumming, I was ecstatic. I remember hearing him play and thinking “Wow, this guy’s good. What a Jazz drummer”. A couple of years later, I went to the Franklin with a few of my friends. I don’t like that bar but I’ll always remember seeing Jack up there just playing away. He always looked like he was having a good time hitting the ol’ skins. I’m really gonna miss him, he was an awesome drummer and an amazing person. I wish that I’d had a chance to play some guitar with him within the last year. I only hope he continues playing where ever it is he ends up! Kirk

Do not let the pain you feel today in anyway cloud the love and joy you hold in your heart. Take each day as it comes knowing the love and support you and your family gave will be returned three fold. One big thing to remember is the pain will go away but the wonderful memories that you held together will always be there and that will be a treasure in itself in the time to come. My family holds you in its prayers and offers you strength and a helping hand when ever the need arises. Beverly Allsopp Ryan Allsopp Arnold Allsopp and Andre Portelance

Dear Family and Friends of Jack Siemon My deepest sympathies for your loss. By simply being himself, Jack was a wonderful example of an honest, helpful and genuinely happy man. My interactions with Jack (or Mr Siemon as he was known to me back then) often occurred as I stopped by Goldbelt to collect supplies for Greenscape. Most times when I came in, Jack came to the front desk or invited me to his office for a chat. He was always interested in my work, how it was going and what projects I was up to. At the start of every summer, Jack always had some work to help me get the landscaping company up and running again. Whether or not the work was pressing or needed to be done, it always seemed to be there when I needed it most. As time went on my appreciation and respect for Jack grew. I often sought his sound advice which he always made time to share. I liked his easy going sense of humor and spirit and quickly recognized him as a sterling example of decency and integrity. Thank you Jack and peace be with you.

Linda and Family: Passing doesn’t diminish the legacy of a life well lived. For those of us who shared moments, our lives are better for the having shared that time. Passion defined Jack. His belief system guided him in all aspects of his life. Family first … business, music, politics … all with commitment, thoughtfulness, and humour. Jack will be missed but never forgotten. Dear Linda and family: I had the pleasure of meeting Jack while I was chairman of the Temiskaming Festival of Music and your children were participating in the festival. Later on, when Kirkland Lake wanted to “resurrect” their Music Festival I met with Jack and a few other local musicians and your Festival got off the ground the following year. He was a gentleman, a beautiful husband and father, a friend to so many, a fellow musician and a volunteer in the community. I pray that God will Bless each of you and that He will ease your pain.

Linda and Family- it is with a heavy heart that I send my and my family’s condolences to you. I had the utmost respect for Jack as a businessman boss and co-worker but more importantly as a person and family man. It is the strong family values of the entire Siemon family that will help you through this difficult time.I often described Jack as a realist, he accepted what came along, good or bad, dealt with it and moved on. When he spoke with me about his illness he was strong, accepted it and then moved on to make sure that his wonderful family was taken care of, he had accepted his fate and was grateful for the life he had. Jack was a strong business man who built a very successful business in Goldbelt and made it one of the most respected and well run companies in the North. Jack’s family values spilled over into this business and we all felt like we were part of a special family, working there was always a pleasure – I have always respected his decisions as a boss and later as an adviser for me, his input will be truly missed. What Jack has instilled and advised will never be forgotten, but rather will be used and passed on, Jack will always be a big part of this company. We can only hope to make him as proud of us as I am sure his father, Harvey was of him for the job he did. Jack will be missed by many, but forgotten by few. Jack is a man that has left his mark in this world, never one to be satisfied by just being a passenger. My thoughts will be with your entire family during this time, I will forever be extremely sorry that I was not able to make it back to pay my respects – but Jack being the realist that I know will understand and accept this- I just wish I could From my entire family sincerest condolences Dave,Debbie,Amanda and Douglas Bolger

Dear Linda, Jennifer, Jon, Jana & Caitlin It is difficult to put into words the ache in our hearts. Jack was a man of integrity, devotion and passion. He was a dear friend, and an inspiration to us in so many ways. He always led by example, stayed true to his values, gave 100% of himself in all of his endeavors; for that, we have always admired and respected him. Our bonds and memories go back a long way. We truly feel a void in our lives, we will miss him. You, as a family, have shown remarkable strength, support and love not only to Jack but to each other. You are an amazing example of what “family” means. We hope that your memories, your love, and Jack’s wonderful spirit will carry you forward. Our love and prayers are with you always. God Bless. Love, Jim & Jane
