In loving memory of Mr. Jack Briggs who passed away at Englehart & District Hospital, on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the age of 73. Pre-deceased by his parents Clifford & Annie Briggs, brother-in-law Roy Cowling and niece Doris Blair. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Beth, son Greg (Elizabeth) and daughter Lori (Dany). He will be sadly missed by his brothers Gerald & Herald, sisters Kathy (Bob Peters), Cora Cowling and by numerous of nieces & nephews. Jack was born August 9, 1940 to Clifford and Annie Briggs and was a lifetime resident of the Englehart area. Jack was a dairy farmer, and while farming was his lifelong passion, he was also involved in many community activities. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Englehart & District firemen for 28 years. He was also proud of his years with the township of Evanturel serving 26 years, 15 years as a councillor & 11 years as Reeve. He also belonged to the Kinsmen Club of Englehart. Jack enjoyed his times with friends at the hunting lodge and his fishing bus and looked forward to his spring fishing tour each year. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at the Englehart Arena Complex on Saturday May 3rd, 2014, with a visitation between 1-2pm. A memorial service will begin at 2pm with a luncheon to follow.
