This is a bit late, but I sadly just found out. This wonderful quiet lady was the second half of the husband, wife team that ran "Joe's Lunch". A small corner store in my home town. Joe's was really the go to place in my home town. With video games, a pool table and of course all the junk food you'd ever want. I spent a huge part of my childhood in their store. They wouldn't say much, except to give you crap if you stepped out of line, but once in a while you'd be there alone and they'd open up and have a conversation with you, and you'd see how sweet they really were. Thanks for all the memories "Mrs. Joe"...
We lived in Virginiatown for many years and we were in Ivanka's restaurant on a regular basis. She was such a nice lady--so kind and always smiling. May she rest in peace
Soo sorry to hear of Ivanka's passing. She was such a nice lady. My parents had the McGarry hotel for many years and as you know she was our neighbor. I spent my childhood at Joe's lunch, and Ivanka was always sooo pleasant.
Sincere sympathies from myself and my parents!
I remember your mom, from my youth, going to Store "Joe's lunch". She always had a smile for everyone, though I don't remember much talking, but seeing her going back to the kitchen with purpose. But always friendly. My sincere sympathy.
So sorry to hear of your loss, Ivanka was a lovely person. I have many fond memories of Joe's Lunch and had the pleasure of knowing Invanka and Joe when they moved to Kirkland. They touched the lives of so many people in a positive way, she will be greatly missed.

Ivanka and Joe were amazing people. I played pool with Joe, her husband many times… it’s funny how we always called her “Misses Joe.. lol
They were our childhood. As far back as I can remember they were there ready to see us walk through the door. She was also an awesome cook. I remember walking through the door thinking what is she cooking up today. Lol
They were still there when I had my children and would come right out to say hello and give the kids a candy.
They will be sadly missed.

Susan and Fred and familY would like to offer our condolences. Even though she and I shared our birthday April 13 I didn't really know her. My memories were of "Joe "and Mrs "Joe" senior and young Joe! They were a large part of our teen years. Joe would always let us play the juke box and dance ..many good memories and friends were made at Joe's lunch..my parents knew were to find me and my friends!
Always the best memories of v-town. I left in 1962 but did drop by on occasion when I came "HOME" to say Hi and I remember the new wife and new grandson!
They were so proud. And they remembered me!...So many good memories were made at "JOE'S"
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Ivanka.
Her and Joe were very special people in my life.
Ivanka rest in peace with Joe.
You will be missed.
So sorry for your loss She was a great lady
My deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom, Bobby and your sister Anna, and my friend. My first memory of Ivanka was when she stepped out of the car dressed in her wedding gown. Over the years she came blueberry picking with my mom and I; we went to a couple concerts and I remembered she was thrilled to see Tommy Hunter and said, wow, right off my TV. I also remember how delighted she was with you Bobby. She marched up to our house with a huge smile to show her son to us. Ivanka was a kind and thoughtful lady. When my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers, Ivanka said it doesn't matter if she doesn't know me when I visit her, she's my friend. Ivanka moved down the street from me in in KL so I would see her and Bobby regularly as they walked the dog. She was a good friend.

As a youth I had the pleasure of seeing Ivanka at least once a week at Joe's in V-Town. Her legacy is of a kind and pleasant woman with a strong sense of family. Bobby, Wayne and I are sorry for your loss.
