Irene Lucy Quinton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19th, 2024, at Teck Pioneer Residence, at the age of 90. Irene faced a courageous health battle with resilience and grace.
Predeceased by her husband Laurence (Larry) Arthur Quinton and her sons, Timothy (Tim) Laurence Quinton and Thomas (Tom) Joseph Quinton, Irene is reunited with her loved ones in eternal peace. She is also preceded in death by her parents Archie Joseph Richer and Emily Bertha Tucker, her sister Rita Leclair, her brothers Archie Richer, James Richer and Arthur Richer as well as several other cherished family members.
Irene leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her daughter Darlene Quinton of Kirkland Lake, her granddaughter Samantha (Marcel) Langlois of Dowling, Ontario, and her great-grandchildren Owen, Ashton, Sawyer, and Birdie-Lynn, whom she cherished deeply. She also leaves behind her sister Diane (Richard) Ringrose of Kirkland Lake.
As the family matriarch, Irene was the glue that bound her family together. She was a compassionate and loyal woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. Born in Tomstown and raised in Northern Ontario, Irene's journey led her to various communities, where she left a lasting impact through her involvement in church activities, pottery-making, ceramics, and knitting.
In honor of Irene’s memory and her compassionate spirit, donations can be made to the Teck Pioneer Residence.
Though Irene may no longer be with us physically, her legacy of love, generosity, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
