In loving memory of Mrs. Irene Lamoureux who passed away at Northview Nursing Home, Englehart, on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the age of 86. Irene was a devoted mother and housewife for the first part of her life. Then she was offered a temporary job at the Northland Lodge, now the Northview Nursing Home, that turned into a permanent job in the housekeeping and laundry department, where she worked from 1972 until being forced into retirement in 1989 due to a heart condition. During those years her devotion to family never diminished, she was always there for support or just to lend an ear. She was a volunteer at the Northland Lodge for many years after her retirement. She canvassed for the Canadian Cancer Society and was actively involved with the local Fall Fair. Irene loved spending time tending to her garden and watching it grow.. She was famous for her `sucre a crème` fudge, loved to knit slippers and mitts etc. for family members. Doing crossword puzzles and reading kept her entertained for hours. Pre-deceased by her husband Real (1993), 2 sons Real Jr (1996), Omer (1973) and granddaughter Stacey Lamoureux (2006).
