1951 - 2014

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Irene Charbonneau at the age of 63, on Sunday October 26, 2014 at the Temiskaming Hospital, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Pearl Charbonneau and her half sister Kathleen Harris. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Lillianne (André Rondeau) and Anita (Matt Williams) and her special friend Peter Sword. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces Nancy (Joel), Rachelle (Jamie), Samantha and nephews Denis (Gidget), Paul (Sylvie), Kris (Jaimi) and cherished grand nieces Kelsie, Chelsea, Ayla, Cassandra, Catherine and grand nephews Cody, Matthieu. Not to be forgotten, long time friend Louise Ménard, sister-at-heart Sue White and all family and friends who crossed her path during her lifetime. Life was not about giving up for Irene... It was about enjoying it to the fullest! She worked for Northern Telephone until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, partaking in sports such as bowling, curling, fishing, and hunting with Peter. Irene was a member of the Legion, the Lioness Club and a devoted volunteer with the Centre de Santé. Her family, friends and clients were always blessed with her unconditional care giving and helping hand at "their time of need". The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who provided care, great comfort and encouragement throughout her difficult times. The family will receive friends at the Paroisse Sacré Coeur in New Liskeard from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 after which the funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Fr. Richard Ngoy will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Temiskaming Hospital Daffodil Room or the New Liskeard Bikers Reunion will be greatfully acknowledged.
