Hank "The Drifter" Smith passed away peacefully on November 10, 2011 at the Teck Pioneer Residence in his 80th year. Born in Bridgewater N.S., the son of Urban and Marjorie (Jodrey) Smith, pre-deceased by his loving wife Margaret, survived by sister Annie McNeil and brother Lloyd, both of Nova Scotia. After working at the Canadian Rock Salt Co, he left to follow his love of country music. He formed a group to play western and bluegrass music and traveled to venues from the Maritimes to Ontario, eventually arriving in Kirkland Lake where he met Margaret, the love of his life, and where he lived for almost 40 years. For some time he did a daily run of newspapers to neighbouring communities but entertaining continued to play an important part of his life. After suffering a stroke he had resided at TPR for many years. The Maple Leafs and Blue Jays have lost an ardent fan. Special thanks and appreciation to TPR staff for the exceptional care extended to Hank. A celebration of his life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Teck Pioneer Residence on Thursday, November 17, 2011 and any who knew him are invited to attend.Offer Condolence for the family of Hugh Smith
