To the entire Lessard Family. Henry was a neighbour as well as a friend to 6 Alexander Avenue for over 50 years. I just found this obituary and felt it important that we recognize this great loss of a great man. He was a builder, outdoors man and a father to wonderful children. Rest In Peace Mr. Lessard.

Lessard – Henry Lessard the eldest of nine children was born on November 19, 1928 in Otto Township, Swastika. After a lengthy illness Henry passed away peacefully on Saturday February 20, 2010 at Extendicare in Kirkland Lake. Henry began his mining career at Sylvanite gold mine and continued his trade at the Adams Iron Ore Mine for over 25 years, retiring in 1988. This allowed him to devote more time and energy to complete the building of his dream camp on the Misema River with family and friends. . Every fall would find Henry and his brothers along with Jim Allen, Al Davies and George Maynard participating in the call of the wild. Henry was predeceased by his parents Georges and Rosa (nee Godin); his siblings Therese, Marie Rose, Marcel (Eunice), Ernest, Lorraine (Rolly) and sister in law Sandra Lessard. Henry is survived and missed by his wife of 53 years Pauline (nee Fournier); his loving children Sue (Lawrence), Rose Marie, Diane (Anthony), Janet (Bill) and Robert. Forever cherished by his grandchildren Lora, Amanda (Duncan), Madison, Vanessa and great grandson Daniel and many nieces and nephews. Henry will be remembered by his siblings Lawrence, Maurice, and George (Linda) Lessard. Family will welcome friends at Monette and French Funeral Home (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake) on Wednesday February 24th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday February 25th from 10:30 AM with funeral service at 12:00 PM.
