1947 - 2022
On December 23, 2022, Harry Donald MacKewn,75, of New Liskeard, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the Tri Town Extendicare, Haileybury, Ontario.
Harry was born in New Liskeard Ontario on March 29,1947 to Eddie and Margaret MacKewn (Baker). He attended school in New Liskeard Ontario. Harry was a truck driver. He ran his own trucking company, Harjay Equipment Ltd for thirty years. Harry loved his horses and competed in many horse draw competitions. His greatest joy was being at the farm. Harry loved his children and was very proud of them. He also adopted six of them. He was also a foster parent for many years. Harry had a big heart and would help anyone in need.
Harry is survived by his wife Judy, Daughter Kimberley Peddie, Daughter Stacey MacMillan Corriveau (Alex), Son Harry MacKewn jr, Daughter Kelly MacKewn, (Ashley). He is also survived by his chosen children, Adam, Aylissa, Jordan, Austin, Autumn, Charlie, Melody, and Alex. He is survived by his sister Carol Robinson, Sister Laura MacKewn, brother Robert MacKewn, (Betty), brother Bill MacKewn (Sue), brother Ernie MacKewn (Lise), brother Fred MacKewn (Carmen) brother Edward MacKewn (Myrtle), all from New Liskeard Ont. He is survived by his granddaughter’s, Brittney Peddie (Justin), Macey Peddie (Devin), and Willow, grandsons, Jacob Wood and Benjamin Wood. He his also survived by his nieces and nephews. Harry is predeceased in death by his parents Eddie and Margaret MacKewn and his brother Michael MacKewn.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Tri Town Extendicare and the staff at The Temiskaming Hospital for their exceptional care.
In keeping with Harry’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
