My papa loved me and so does grandma. I go to grandma’s all the time to see papa and grandma. Papa has been sick a long time and now he’s in heaven where the good people go. My mommy is sad so is daddy and everyone but heaven is nice and papa will like it there. I wont be able to do hammering and drilling anymore with him but he couldn’t do that for a long time . I love you papa.

I love my papa and I love the things we made together. I remember putting together tubes and wires and a basket and when I was finished he put a switch and light and made the machine work. Also sitting on his lap and talking and watching my favourite show how its made.but mostly I miss his hugs and Him.

For the ones that are reading this that don’t know me I am the 3rd grandaughter of Wendy and Harold burns. Many people in this town knew my grandfather and knew him as different names, but he was my one and only Papa. As we all know my papa lived a long and happy life. But just like anyone else’s life there were faults. But when he had a bad day he always had he’s two beautiful daughters that looked up to him, A crazy wife that loved him dearly and five wonderful grandchildren that miss him more then anything. My papa was a great man and its q pleasure to have him as my grandfathe. I couldn’t ask for anyone better then my papa and never will!

ALINE BATES, March 1, 2021

Please accept our sympathies. Tubby and I worked top to bottom sinking the two kilometer deep Macassa Number Three Shaft which holds the world record as deepest single-lift timbered mine shaft ever sunk, still to this day . At the end of a long hard work day on the shaft bottom, Tubby would emerge on surface still smiling and joking. It was a pleasure knowing you Tubby.
