CORBOULD, Gloria

1940 - 2025

1940 – 2025

Gloria Corbould, who passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 17, was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Baranoski, and her brother, Dennis Baranoski. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Ted Corbould; her brother, Ron Baranoski; and her nephew, Casey Baranoski.

Gloria was a familiar and beloved presence in her community, known for her constant energy and warmth. Every day, she could be seen walking through town with a smile on her face, always ready to stop and chat with anyone she met along the way. Her deep commitment to others was most evident in her work at the Teck Pioneer Residence, where she spent over a decade bringing comfort and companionship to the residents. She didn’t just visit; she formed meaningful connections, brightening the days of many. Gloria’s love for helping didn’t stop there. Every year, she volunteered at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish’s Christmas lunch, where she helped prepare and serve meals, ensuring that no one in the community went without a warm meal during the holiday season. Her kindness was felt by all who knew her, and her spirit of giving left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

A mass and luncheon in her honor will be held at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish this summer. Details will be shared several weeks in advance. For more information, please contact her son, Ted, at tcorbould@hotmail.com. Gloria’s cremation has taken place, and her ashes will be spread in a private ceremony this summer.

I remember Gloria well when we were growing up on Rowan Ave. She was always quiet and shy but kind to everyone. So sorry for your loss.

Gloria’s Family

I offer my condolences to Gloria’s family. I had the opportunity to encounter Gloria on many occasions as she went about her daily activities such as her walks to the grocery store.

Even in the depth of inclement January winter weather she persevered with calm and determination. Her conversations invariably centred around her son whom she greatly missed.

She certainly will be missed by the Holy Name Parish congregation to which she was a devout adherent.

Ron Baranoski

Hello Ron: It has been many years since we have spoken, but I just wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. I remember Gloria as a happy, selfless young girl who added a wonderful effervescence to our Pulchinski family gatherings be the either at your Mom and Dad's home or at Joe and Stella's home on Poplar Avenue. Unfortunately, I lost touch with many people from Kirkland Lake after moving to Toronto and then to Peterborough where I am now. Was also very saddened to know that Dennis has passed away. Life is short and we must make the most of it while we can. All the BEST to you. Love, Olive Bailey (Pulchinski)
