It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of George Mangotich at Teck Pioneer Residence on December 4, 2015 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his parents John & Anne Mangotich as well as his brothers Carlo, John and Paul. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Joyce (nee McGinn). He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children; Kathy King (Chris Beatty), Tina (Greg) Woollings, Ivan (Karen) Mangotich and Joanne (Steve) McFarlan; his grandchildren Christopher, Emily, Samuel, Curtis, Jacob, Brad, Laura, Korrine, Anna, David and Scott. Also survived by his sister Annie Martel of B.C., his brother Max (Anita) Mangotich of Milton; his sisters-in-law Aline, Doris, Ethel Mangotich as well as numerous nieces and nephews. George started his career as a draftsman at INCO and was then a business owner of the Commercial Hotel in Engleheart. George loved his family and the outdoors, he spent many hours of his retirement years in the outdoors; hunting or going to the bush whether at his “Ponderosa” or “Mighty Misema”. George was known for his lamb and pig roasts that were an important part of family celebrations. Special thanks to all the staff of the “Toburn Unit” at Teck Pioneer Residence. A celebration of George’s Life will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME (111 Burnside Dr. Kirkland Lake, ON). In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be made to the Teck Pioneer Residence Activity Fund (145A Government Rd., East, Kirkland Lake, ON, P2N 3L1).
